Maha Samadhi Divas of Shirdi Sai Samadhi is spiritual super conscious state. Sadguru can experience effortless spontaneous state of super consciousness by their very nature:Swabhav as in case of Sai Baba as described in Shri Sai Satcharita. When a Saint leaves his body and is capable of remaining in a super conscious state without the body, it is called Maha Samadhi. For Him death is not a process of total annihilation but discordance of body, which He has been occupying to carry on certain duties towards humanity. As mentioned in Chapter XLII of Shri Sai Satcharita, Sai Baba got a slight fever 17 days before for 2 or 3 days in the previous month, but afterwords Baba gave up his food and thereby grew weaker and weaker. Baba left His mortal coil on 15th October 1918.That day was Vijaya Dashami or Dasara. Hence Maha Samadhi Divas of Shirdi Sai Baba is observed on Vijaya Dashami or Dasara every year.
