Mahadeva sent down some rishis for them to give a ‘running - TopicsExpress

Mahadeva sent down some rishis for them to give a ‘running commentary’ on Parvati Maa’s tapas. They did so and asked Mata the reasons for Her tapas and then tried hindering by negative comments about Shiva. She did not heed them but just carried on, I feel that I am already married to Shiva. If he does not accept me, Im not going to marry any other person. There cannot be Bridegrooms for me. The rishis went back to Kailasa, “May it please You, My Lord” they said “nothing is going to stop Her....it would not be proper to subject her to any more pain with the pretext of testing her mind. “Well, I will go myself to test her firmness” and disguised as a disciple hanging around the grove where Mata was. Approaching Her, Mahadeva said “why do you wish to marry that three eyed Man, all clad in crematorium ash living in a burial ground. He wears a skull garland and snakes are His ornaments. His hair is clumsily matted, His weapon is a Trident and has animal skin on his person. He moves around in a bull crowded with peculiar ganas, demons and spirits. You are so beautiful; He is an ugly beggar….dont get married to Him.” Hearing such words, Parvati Maa’s eyes were red. She could not hear such abuse of Mahadeva and in trembling voice said, “Vile man, what would You know of Shiva. He is Almighty, He is the most powerful, He is most Merciful, most Compassionate. He is Infinite, Incomprehensible, Indescribable and even without a million eyes You cannot see Him or hear Him. He did not give Himself a name, yet the human race describes Him in many ways. Having not seen Him, the human race is fearful of Him, at the same time beseech His benevolence, seek His protection. They love Him, extol Him, at times curse Him for every misfortune they encounter. No one knows Him, yet the efforts to reach Him has not ceased, human endeavor to know Him continues. Human follies are so fertile, and they never give up conjuring up stories to satiate their own curiosities needed to shore up their confidences….. There is no need for so much talk. My mind is firmly rooted in Shiva. None can change it. I am fully aware of Shivas form, qualities and greatness. He has neither deformity nor any defect. Listening to all this, Mahadeva, pleased with Mata’s focus and single mindedness of purpose assumed His original form and appeared before Mata……..Om Shiva Shakti.
