Mentioning the ship Uranie - is helpful as we are putting the pieces together of our history and only in the last year did I learn of this painting on board the Uranie in 1819 on the Big Island of Hawai`i at Kawaihae - at Pu`u Kohola - the National Temple and Political Center of King Kamehameha. What appears to be a diplomatic visit, with the ROYAL COURT OF KING LIHOLIHO KAMEHAMEHA II, three months after the death of King Kamehameha I, remains as evidence and formal recognition of his successor to the throne; but instead has been labeled as the BAPTISM OF KALANIMOKU - his Prime Minister. The biased views such as the royal guests drank and got carried away - was a long term damaging tool of the colonizers until today; and is being addressed now in U.S.A as RACIAL PROFILING.
