Khun fabric, also know as Khand is one of the most popular textile amongst Maharashtrian. Traditionally worn by the women from Maharashtra and Karnataka, the Khun fabric is a peculiar feminine hand woven fabric made from cotton and silk. The elaborate and elegant geometric borders of Khun fabric, reflects the allure of the ancient times. Khun fabric is a woven textile piece, originally made in 30 inches widths with border. It was usually used for making cholis and blouses. It is now woven using fly shuttles in a pit-loom with a lattice dobby attachment taking 60/40 counts colored warp and weft yarns.
