Mahatma Gandhi wanted the Congress Party to be dissolved once the country became independent. He did not want the party to remain an entity as that has too much of influence in the country. He wanted other people to be elected to rule the country and clearly mentioned the qualities of the new government. But the power-hungry Nehru clan did not let that happen and even marginalized Mahatma Gandhi going to the extent of changing the surname of his son-in-law, Feroz, to Gandhi just to cash in on the fame.
