Maidstone Borough Council staff have donated their unworn or second hand smart clothing as a contribution towards Golding Homes’ Dress to Impress project. The project aims to tackle one of the barriers to work for people on benefits and on low incomes – having smart clothes to wear for interview. Through the project, an individual with an interview can choose and keep a smart outfit to wear to interview, and also get advice and tips on how to succeed at interview. If this is something that you feel would benefit someone you know, people aged 18+ who attend Jobcentre Plus and have an interview can access smart clothes for interview by asking their Personal Advisor. People who are Golding Homes tenants can access this project and should speak to Golding Homes. Other people who are aged 16-18, are unemployed, cannot afford smart clothing and are not attending the Jobcentre can be referred into the project via the council – contact [email protected].
