Maiduguri Barrack Attack Update: Nigerian Forces Deploy Fighter Jets To Counter Boko Haram Attack wp.me/p3Cxdt-2By The Nigerian Forces appeared to have gained an upper hand in the attack on Giwa Barrack, Maiduguri by Boko Haram insurgents. News Bytes had broken the news of the Friday morning attack. News Bytes gathered that the Boko Haram insurgents came in through Galtimari village to attack Giwa military barracks, which is the Headquarter of the Nigerian Army 7th Division. The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) gate was also reportedly bombed, as students took cover at Damboa road, GRA. A source who spoke with News Bytes said the attack was aimed at Giwa barracks, as the insurgents seem not to have attacked civilians. The reliable source also confirmed that Nigerian forces and thousands of youth from vigilante groups engaged the insurgent for almost 2 hours before the Nigerian Army air back-ups were deployed for counter attack, few minutes ago. Residents confirmed seeing fighter jets. But the only thing we can see are continued flow of youth volunteer groups to the scene. And all we can hear are sounds of bombs, sporadic gun shots and aeroplanes According to another resident, Gunshots are subsiding now with fighter jets all over More at: wp.me/p3Cxdt-2By ...@newsbytesnow
