Mail sent by director...... My dear students, During the recent events, I have heard words such as victory and defeat. I want to make it clear that in your defeat, does NOT lie our victory, and vice versa. The students and faculty are on a common journey together and the goal is education. This is what you have come here for, this is what we faculty are here for, and this is why this institution was created. So there cannot be victory for one and defeat for the other. Either it is a victory for all, or it is a defeat for all. This mail is on method - what do we understand by peaceful or non-violent agitation. It means non-violent in action, non-violent in word, and non-violent in thought. Even though the agitation was non-violent in action (barring a few stray incidents), it was not non-violent in words. Several times, the language used was not proper, indeed it was disrespectful. This suggests that the underlying thoughts emerged from a feeling of opposition rather than aspiration and commitment to work together. I leave it to you to judge whether your thoughts were without a feeling of opposition. You will have to recollect and reflect. Faculty-student relationship is at the heart of any educational institute. Good and harmonious relationship engenders an open and caring environment. While an open environment is necessary for true learning, a caring atmoshphere makes it joyful. I know we have many challenges spanning all the way from modernization of laboratories to renovation of hostels, design of new curricula to project based pedagogy, breadth of learning to better teaching learning processes, and many more. But all these can be addressed only on the bedrock of faculty student relationship. How can we build the relationship stronger? How do we nurture it? As we move forward, it is the methods we adopt that will determine the relationship. This in turn will affect the atmosphere and shape the nature of the Institute. It is for us to decide. Either we are all victors, or all losers. - Rajeev Sangal Again his words is diplomatic.. Bt we continued pen down movement..
