Mainstream media are describing the peaceful protests in Berkeley as erupting in violence, but many on Twitter, IG, and YouTube are showing videos similar to this, where the police are cutting off and surrounding and jabbing protestors with their batons, firing tear gas at them...and giving them nowhere to go, thus provoking confusion, anger, and chaos. A small group of protestors responded with vandalism. Just offering this here as an alternative perspective. Dont believe the hype. Warning: Lots of f bombs. Lots of use of the word bro. Also: Reading the #BerkeleyProtest tag on Twitter and reading from folks that the focus was on capitalism, not on #BlackLivesMatter.
