Maiya update. After the shenanigans earlier this week maiya is finally back to normal digestive function(Operation baby colon cleanse was a success) and is much happier, and finally sleeping normally. Mommy and daddy too! In regards to her elevated TSH levels we have spoken with our endocrinologist, and have come up with the following plan. Maiya will once again be placed on levothyroxine, an artificial thyroid hormone, in order to help reverse the elevated levels. She is trending towards hormone resistance, with tsh levels doubling since July. While we are not surprised entirely by this, we were admittedly caught off gaurd by the rapid change. Endocrine will continue to monitor her tsh levels, among others, repeating labs next month in order to determine the effectiveness of her medications. We are hopeful that this time around Maiya responds with minimal adverse side effects to the synthetic hormones. As you can see from the picture below, our peanut is aggressive enough especially when it comes to tackling Dog-Dog!
