Major Development I was waiting until all my family members had - TopicsExpress

Major Development I was waiting until all my family members had been told and now I can tell you. As you probably know if youve followed my FB timeline, an explanation from Sopharath Phin - Rath, my guide at the time and now very good friend, that folks were using river water for drinking led me to the exhibit of an AquaPak in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle. That led me to the factory in San Diego which led me to distributing them in Cambodia. My current three week visit here was to find out where I needed to be living for this upcoming year. We are off to a good start with distribution (pictures from my FB timeline show you what we’ve been doing) and look forward to getting AquaPaks out and known throughout the country. Definitely a daunting task, but one which needs to be done in this country where less than 40% of the people have access to safe drinking water and a high rate of infant mortality from waterborne illnesses. It was pointed out to me by Bill Morse, an expat here in Siem Reap with his wife Jill, who is project manager of Cambodian Self Help Demining, that if I want to see AquaPaks become successful I need to be HERE to do it. I told Rath that the “sign” would be my being able to get a Cambodian visa. I picked up my passport last night with a visa stamped valid through September, 2015! Thus, the bottom line (with lots of encouragement and support from so many of you as well as LOTS of unanswered questions at this point as to what I will actually do to make it happen by giving up my home for the past 44 years – Japan) is that I will be moving here to Siem Reap! (Probably by or around the end of 2014.) For those with a visit to Angkor Wat on your bucket list – you now have a contact living here to help you reach your goal.
