Major Fire Updates: Advice - Cliff Dr, Katoomba Posted: 2014-11-03 19:08/7:08pm Favourable weather conditions have allowed 100 firefighters, aided by six aircraft, to continue work on containment lines around Cahills Lookout. Crews, including Remote Area Fire Teams (RAFT) have directly attacked the fire edge where possible. Overnight, crews will continue to patrol the area around properties on Cliff Drive and mop up fire affected areas as required. Currently there is no direct threat to properties or any major tourism destinations other than the Six Foot Track. Residents in Cliff Drive, Brougham Street, Essendene Road and Moss Street should remain vigilant as temperatures are forecast to increase later this week. The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a maximum temperature of 23C and 25km/h NE winds for Tuesday November 4. ADVICE People in the area around Cliff Drive, Brougham Street, Essendene Road and Moss Street should continue to monitor the situation. Know what you will do if the situation changes.
