Major Movie Reviews – *New Movie Release* Selma (PG-13) (Drama) Now In Theaters ‘Selma’ is a film shows us that its not enough to think the right thoughts or say the right words, patiently standing on the sidelines and waiting for change to happen. We must build the path best we can, rock by rock. We see history as it unfolds, not as it has been encased in amber, in a movie that needs to be seen in these anxious days of renewed racial and cultural unrest. The movie is riveting. It reminds us not only of how far we have come as a society but how far we have yet to go. What Daniel Day-Lewis did for Lincoln, Oyelowo does for King, mimicking his behavior and speech uncannily. He is both completely believable and someone weve never encountered before. It may be coincidence that Selma reverberates with a particular timeliness...Still, its thanks to director DuVernay and first-time features writer Paul Webb that the film has more than the luck of timing on its side. It is deeply-felt drama depicting the worst of America and the best of America. David Oyelowo is excellent. This is a must see. MRR gives this film 4.5 out of 5 General Officer Stars. Movie Story Line: A chronicle of Martin Luther Kings campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965.
