Major Movie Reviews – *New Movie Release* The Imitation Game (PG-13) (Drama/Thriller) Now In Theaters The Imitation Game is a highly conventional movie about a profoundly unusual man. This is not entirely a bad thing. Its a marvelous story about science and humanity, plus a great performance by Benedict Cumberbatch, plus first-rate film-making and cinematography, minus a script that muddles its source material to the point of betraying it. With a constantly shifting chronology, the filmmakers find and link the key moments in the life of a brilliant, complicated, fascinating man. Unlike self-consciously unconventional biopics, The Imitation Game melds fact and invention with lucidity and sweep. But one must note that the films prime force is Cumberbatch, a great actor whose talent shines here on its highest beams. Its an explosive, emotionally complex performance. His co-stars include Keira Knightly and Mark Strong. In the end, this film makes a serious claim as one of the best spy thrillers ever made. MRR gives this film 4 out of 5 General Officer Stars. Movie Story Line: English mathematician and logician, Alan Turing, helps crack the Enigma code during World War II.
