Interviews are a key part of the hiring process, and they serve a number of functions for employers. The Q&A scenario, supported by aptitude testing, reveals much about candidates - whether they have the required knowledge and practical expertise, what they are like under pressure, how they are likely to behave in certain scenarios, and whether they will be a good fit for the organisation. Job applicants who fail to prepare effectively for their interview, in terms of researching the organisation they have applied to and preparing responses to key questions, will quickly be flushed out by the process.
