Major is an 8 year old German Shepherd that was surrendered to the Burlington Pet Adoption Center by his owner after the owner suffered a serious heart attack and could no longer keep him. Major is a wonderful dog, but is extremely stressed to find himself in a shelter situation. He has gnawed his tail raw and is now wearing an e-collar which is also stressful. There has been little interest in this dog despite pleas for help. We posted him on our Happy Chances Animal Friends a few days ago and had a little interest, but not much. Trish Cates and I have a soft spot for the seniors but we are totally maxed out in terms of space. We have one other foster home and it is full. Please consider fostering this boy, adopting this boy, or if you are a rescue, taking this boy. Transport can be arranged. He is great with everyone. His only misfortune is to be a little older. Remember! We are all going to get old one day and none of us is guaranteed tomorrow. Take a chance! :) Sorry if I sound a little harsh; I am just so weary of seeing these seniors in the shelter.
