Major proud mamma bear moments as Blanche Macdonald Fashion Design graduates EVAN CLAYTON, ALEX S. YU and Sara Armstrong took the catwalk of Vancouver Fashion Week these last couple of days! We’re still trying to wrap our heads around how wonderful (and diverse) these three collections were – and how far each has come in defining their voice in the design scene. Nancy Mak Award winner Evan, freshly landed from his thrilling MQ Vienna Fashion Week adventure closed Day 2 with an impeccably tailored and exhilarating collection which saw neoprene delights printed by local doodle doyenne Kat Thornsen. On Day 3, Sara plodded out a gripping troupe of complex geometry and high craft garments that were approachable and stunningly unique. NICHE magazine sponsored Emerging Designer Alex closed the day with a resplendent display of whimsy and innovative fabrics that had the whole venue on the edge of their seats.
