Major repaving of Center Street, Lynn Garden Drive, and Stone Drive will begin Sunday night June 8th and run nightly Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. in a schedule designed to minimize traffic impact as much as possible. In all, nearly eight miles of Stone Drive, Lynn Garden and Center will be repaved at a cost of $4.2 million. Stone Drive will be resurfaced from Fairmont Avenue to Brookside Drive, Center will be repaved from the intersection with Fort Henry Drive to Lynn Garden, and Lynn Garden will be repaved from Stone Drive to the Tennessee-Virginia state line. Work is slated to continue on this project through the end of August so motorists should be aware, use extra caution and seek alternative routes where possible.
