Makara or Capricorn. This is one of the most mysterious signs of the zodiac, the meaning of Capricorn and ‘Makara’ is also very different. Capricorn is a goat-like animal where as ‘Makara’ means a crocodile in Sanskrit. The “V” stands for a funnel that pours down the Divine Grace, the horizontal line refers to passivity or receptivity, the circle refers to the Spiritual Realization and the tail pointing to the left suggests that having realized the Divine Plan the incarnate spirit goes on a spiritual mission spreading awareness in the material world. Capricorn is a female, earthy and moveable sign. The female element refers to the passivity or receptivity. The earthy element refers to field of action which is tied down to day to day existence. The moveable element refers to upward mobility of the incarnate spirit. Saturn a planet of austerity, suffering and deep thinking owns the sign. Mars a planet of action and aggression is slowed down slightly by the Saturn influence to give just the right initiative and drive is exalted here.
