Making progress! So I went with the 94 version. Out of all of them, the 94 version seemed to fit the theme best as it has a lot of panels and I really wanted to dissect a Varian suite that had some obvious mechanical components to it. It also so happens to be the version of Samus that I used to emulate most as a child (power towel roll for an arm gun and voice activated sound effects included ;) ) so there are some purely emotively nostalgic reasons behind this decision as well. I still have to get much of the legs worked out but I think Im pretty happy with where this is headed. The tricky part is giving the intricacy of the piece justice without overdoing it. If its too busy, everything will just get lost in the mix - and needless to say, this has to be setup to print clearly on your t-shirts (so tad bit challenging lol). As a general rule I try to keep a ratio of 30% detail to 70% base drawing but since this will likely remain a line-based drawing Im bending that rule a bit. The coloured image shows how I am able to keep everything connected without getting lost in the schematics. Green: gun; Red Varian suit ; Blue: Zero suit. The end result will look more like the monochromatic image (still need to get those values worked out at the end so that some lines stand out more than others.) P.S. - I havent forgotten Megaman. Hes going to be a bit more challenging being a robot and all, so Im going to work on him once I get a better handle on this one.
