Making the proper Dua for Palestine: By now you have probably - TopicsExpress

Making the proper Dua for Palestine: By now you have probably noticed that almost every other person on your Facebook/twitter is posting about what is going on Palestine. We have Muslims posting about making dua for the Muslims in Palestine, making dua for the destruction of their enemies, destruction of Israel, Zionists, and the Jews, etc. Instead of making such duas we should analyze the situation to see what is really happening. What is happening in Palestine is not new. This has been ongoing for the past 66 years. Its a never ending cycle of violence where the Israelis commit a massacre every few months/years. The real question that we should be asking ourselves is that are duas for the destruction of their enemies is what the Palestinians need? If so, millions and millions of people have been making dua for the past 66 years for the destruction of their enemies yet they remain. If you ask any Palestinian who has been living under occupation for the past 66 years What do you need the most? do you think the answer will be We need your duas or We need someone to protect us and defend us. Muslims should understand that the state of Israel is an illegal state founded and built upon occupied Muslim land, Palestine. Of course Israel will do anything and everything it can to maintain its survival. The real question is what have the leaders of the Muslims, Muslim nations, have done for the Palestinians? Absolutely nothing! The only thing they have done is colluded with the illegal state of Israel and assisted it in killing/injuring the Palestinians and maintaining the occupation. A prime example of this is the Egypt and Jordan who had signed Peace treaties with Israel which essentially was a death sentence for the Palestinians. Along with these two neighboring countries, several other Muslim nations have remained silently on the side lines and just watched as the massacres of the Muslims in Palestine occurred repeatedly. The most that they had to offer was to have the Mosques in their nations make Dua for them. Islam teaches us that dua and action go hand in hand. We learn from the seerah of the Prophet (saw) for example, at the Battle of Uhud, the Prophet (SAWS) and the believers did not just sit in Madinah and make dua. Rather, they went out to face the army of their enemy and then made dua before, during and after the battle. After establishing authority in Madinah, the Prophet (SAWS) did not just make dua for the spreading of the Message. Rather, he sent out emissaries, propagators and scholars to call the masses to the Message, but made dua before, during and after his efforts. The norm in the Quran and the life of the Messenger (SAWS) and his Companions and the Pious Predecessors is dua accompanied by action. Having said this, today at iftar time when you are making dua for the Muslims in Palestine, dont just make dua that O Allah, Help the Muslims in Palestine. Be practical. Make dua to Allah (swt) to guide the Muslim leaders to stand up and defend and protect the Muslims. If they cannot be guided, may Allah replace them with a ruler who will protect and defend the honor of this Ummah.
