#MalawiVote2014 I was at a polling station at a primary school at Ntagaluka (also known as M’baluku) in Mangochi from voting into the night of counting and I travelled with the results to the DC’s office where I spent the rest of the night, participating in additional arithmetic of figures from polling centres. Many years ago, in 2004. I was at MEC’s tally centre at Chichiri Conference Centre, all night, all day after night. Not long ago, in 2009. These electoral process insights are of a participant observer. It is most likely impossible for anyone to bring unofficial papers into a ballot box or to bring unofficial figures to the DC’s office. We have a nearly perfect system. We may have challenges. But on ballot papers and electoral arithmetic, I am sure of my faith in the electoral systems and procedures.
