Malays, and Muslims in Malaysia especially, are a sensitive lot. - TopicsExpress

Malays, and Muslims in Malaysia especially, are a sensitive lot. Throughout the years I have seen so much, or rather, too much overplay of sensitivities. "Allah" is for all human race and mankind. Allah created the heavens and the earth and all in it including those who believe in it or the unbelievers. A person who travels overseas will understand that we can pray to God anywhere. In the closet, in the car, in the changing room, in the cloakroom, in the storeroom and I have even prayed in solitude behind the pillars in an open space at airports that do not provide prayer rooms. In many airports (Hong Kong and Singapore too) and at Campbelltown Hospital they provide a prayer room where all religions can pray in the same hall. There is an altar and a qiblat. Alhamdullillah. Theres a place for ablution. Theres bibles and quran and many religious books in there. All pray to the ONE the merciful, the beneficient, the sustainer of this earth. We can pray in churches, in synagogues or temples as long as we are confident it is clean. And even if by force there is no clean place we are allowed to pray. Prayers are actually in the heart and from the heart. Not the location. There is even a hadith that said the Prophet allowed other religions to pray in the mosque. Thats what made our religion special then. We are supposed to spread our religion through kindness and good words and deeds as expounded in surah Nahl verse 125. I end with surah Al maidah: 8 "Let not a nations hatred by any means occassion you or incite you to wrong or depart you from justice".
