Malaysia Airlines Website Hacked by Group Calling Itself ‘Cyber Caliphate’ SINGAPORE—Malaysia Airlines, still recovering from the loss of two aircraft last year that left 537 people dead or missing, had its website hacked by a group claiming be aligned with the Islamic State extremist group. The browser window of the website, malaysiaairlines, said “ISIS WILL PREVAIL” and the airline’s ticket booking and other services were unavailable. Instead, a full-screen picture of a Malaysia Airlines Airbus Group NV . A380 plane and the messages “404—Plane Not Found,” and “Hacked by Cyber Caliphate,” were displayed on the home page. On Monday, the company said its web servers are intact and customer bookings and data are secure. It added that its domain name system was compromised. Earlier this month, hackers claiming to be similarly aligned with the Islamic State extremist group took control of the U.S. Central Command’s primary Twitter and YouTube accounts, posting office phone numbers of top military officers and what they said were confidential military documents.
