Malaysian authorities will begin a crackdown on foreign workers - TopicsExpress

Malaysian authorities will begin a crackdown on foreign workers without valid permits, its home minister said on Friday. Home minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this aims to ensure compliance with the laws on foreign workers in the country. “We do not want employers to employ foreign workers without permits,” he said in a Bernama news agency report posted on Malaysia’s The Star Online. However, he also said Malaysian authorities want to see to it that employers “provide housing and medical facilities, as well as look after the welfare, of their workers.” “This is to ensure Malaysia is regarded as a country which needs foreign workers and takes care of their well-being,” he added. He said the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and other enforcement agencies under the ministry will carry out the operations. Feel Free To LIKE ~ COMMENT & SHARE!
