Malaysian passenger plane crashes in Ukraine near Russian border... A Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, Interfax cited an aviation industry source as saying on Thursday. It said the Boeing plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. Reuters could not immediately confirm the Interfax report. The passenger plane did not enter Russian airspace when expected and it crashed in eastern Ukraine, a Russian aviation industry source told Reuters. It came down close to town of Shaktarsk in the rebellion-wracked region of Donetsk after disappearing from the radar and teams from the emergency services were trying to reach the scene, an unnamed security source told Interfax-Ukraine news agency. Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines and Ministry of Transport said both had no information about any airliner that may have crashed.
