Male charged – steal from person (wallet stolen from pram) – Cabramatta About 3:10pm on Thursday 5th September 2013 a woman has entered a fruit shop on John Street, Cabramatta. At the time she was pushing her child in a pram and was carrying a handbag. She has left her pram and handbag briefly and went to a nearby display. Whilst she was doing this, a 40 year old man from Sefton has entered the store and allegedly taken the female’s wallet from her handbag on the pram. It is alleged he left the store quickly and went to a nearby car park. Shortly after the female went to pay for her items and notice her wallet was missing. The female believed she had lost her wallet and left the store. Store staff reviewed CCTV footage and found that it depicted the alleged offence. Shortly after the 40 year of man walked back past the store and was recognised by staff. They stopped him and police were called. The man was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with the offence of “steal from person.” He will appear at Liverpool Local Court on the 25th September 2013. Police recovered the female’s money and wallet and have returned them to her.
