Malema faces lengthy business ban Published: Today 14:36 Julius Malema (Picture: Sapa) Pretoria - Julius Malema is one of 41 tenderpreneurs who face lengthy business bans after having criminal charges brought against them in connection with the Limpopo government debacle. According to the Sunday Independent, a Hawks report has recommended that the accused be recorded on the Register of Tender Defaulters. This would ban them from doing business with the state. Malema’s business partner and co-accused, Lesiba Gwangwa, is already on the list. Malema and Gwangwa, along with three others, are accused of fraudulently securing a R52m roads and transport department tender in Limpopo. They are expected to appear in court in November. Hawks boss Lieutenant-General Anwar Dramat said that 27 forensic investigation reports have been forwarded to the police for criminal investigation and that 39 cases had been opened. This comes after five of the province’s departments - education, health, public works, treasury, and roads and transport - were placed under central government administration in December 2011.
