Malibu Schools Contamination Case: 6 months ago, the Santa Monica - TopicsExpress

Malibu Schools Contamination Case: 6 months ago, the Santa Monica Unified School District (SMMUSD) promised the parents, teachers, and students comprehensive environmental sampling & testing of the soil and classrooms for all the contaminants identified on campus (e.g.DDT, Chlordane, DDE, arsenic, PCBs, lead, cadmium, etc.). This would have cost $200,000, and taken 2 months to have complete answers. Now, 6 months later, the SMMUSD has spent $500,000 and only has limited testing results for 1 contaminant (PCBs) in only a small fraction of the classrooms. And some of those results are in violation of EPAs requirements. The one thing that you can be absolutely certain about is that no public agency is going to let children stay in a situation that would be immediately dangerous to their health. Sorry Mr. York, but, the good citizens of West Virginia would disagree. wvgazette/News/201402100143
