To the next available opportunity i went to his residence to pay my condolences in person and participate in prayers of peace to the departed soul He hailed from border area of Baramulla district but had moved in to the quarters of HMT,for security reasons, to save lives of his family from liberators. I had been visiting him for now couple of years, first time out of curiosity ,how quarters meant for employees of HMT has been given to local. On reaching there i found a large number of quarters are provided to locals as employees have fled for their life. It presented a deserted looks unlike when i saw it in 1980 it was bubbling with activities. After condolence my thought, started revolving the area around. This was the theater of battle which proved Waterloo for PAK raiders, known as battle of Shaltengh .Saibogh,Narbal ,Sumbal was a girdle stretch were raiders were given element of surprise very vital and paying for any combat force. I asked gathering that does army harass the family relatives of his. I was surprised to hear that whole village is in complete harmony with them above all his brothers are having good report. What a Jihad enjoying best of both the worlds only sufferer is a commoner. Kashmiris are killed,raped.maimed exiled.
