Malik Nissar: Traffic Police Press release to Sachnews Jammu Kashmir: In view of improvement in weather condition and road condition, it has been decided that all types of vehicles shall be allowed to ply, both ways, on NHW-1A (viz. from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa) w.e.f.10.04.2014, round the clock, every day. However, keeping in view the ongoing work on NHW, damage to the road/narrow width of road formation at some stretches (due to prolonged winters) and to avoid any inconvenience to the passengers, the following advisory is issued:- a) The passengers/commuters (of PSVs) are advised to cross TCP Nagrota upto 0900 hours (when plying from Jammu side towards Valley) and Qazigund upto 1000 (when plying from Srinagar towards Jammu) on daily basis in order to avoid jamming and co-related inconvenience; b) As the stretch between Ramban and Ramsoo is still difficult, narrow and prone to shooting stones etc. all types of PSVs shall avoid to cross the said stretch after the sunset to avoid accidents; c) In case of bad weather and shooting stones, the PSVs shall avoid to venture and cross the landslide/shooting stone prone areas to avoid any eventuality. They shall get updates regarding road condition etc. from the concerned Traffic Police officials; d) Utmost driving discipline should be observed and overloading, overspeeding/ rash driving, overtaking, stopping en-route etc. should be avoided while plying on National Highway to ensure own as well as safety of others; To get updates, the general public is advised to contact the Traffic Control Rooms at TCU Ramban (9419993745), TCU Jammu (2459048, 9419147732) and TCU Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396) on daily basis, before embarking on NHW.
