Malik hits back at Soz, “Let’s compete & see who represents Kashmiris”: Reacting strongly against the statement of Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Saif Ud Din Soz, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said the pro-freedom parties represent the sentiments and sacrifices of people of J&K and “their representative character is well established and known.” Soz had challenged resistance campto prove their representative character in elections. “Soz is asking us to prove our representative character through Indian elections that are held under Indian constitution and are conducted by Indian election commission, bureaucracy, army and other officials,” Malik said in a statement issued to Global News Service on Monday. Malik said if these people think that pro-freedom leaders and parties have no representative character “let them all get together, choose a constituencyin Kashmir and compete with us for proving representative character.” “Let this election process be conducted by the civil society inKashmir with a sole purpose of proving who really represents Kashmiri people,” he said. Malik said, “If at all, Mr Soz believes in his own statement, he should not shy away from this challenge”. He said that if resistance camp is defeated in this election, “I hereby announce that I will quit politics.” The JKLF Chief said it is these Indian elections and Assembly members who are responsible for the miseries of people of Jammu and Kashmir and said that whoever takes part in these elections is actually an enemy of Kashmir. “It is this election process and assembly which provides a shield and legal cover to the killers of Kashmiris.” Lashing out at ruling coalition government Malik said it is ironical that today both these parties who are running the coalition government in Kashmir condemn our arrest in Doda and prevent us from distributing relief goods amongearthquake victims. JKLF Chief said that he and his team will leave for Doda again on 18th June 2013 to distribute relief among the affected people.
