Mama Lanas Nightly Meal Monday 3rd November The mood was chirpy and cheerful tonight as around 35 patrons waited under the bridge for the team consisting of Casey, Joanna, Tracy and Papa Roger. Chicken risotto, sandwiches, fruit salad, custard and donuts were appreciatively enjoyed while we all chatted and caught up with a few patrons we hadnt seen for a while. Thanks to Sharyn for the sandwiches and custard, and Suzie for the fruit salad. Our thanks also to Donut King Emu Plains for your support and delicious treats! And of course, Mama Lana for the yummy hot meals. Monday is Library Night so we had our regular readers hanging out with Shae and Beck, chatting about favourite books, films, novels being written by patrons, and general gas bagging. We have constant requests for lined notebooks and pens, so if you are looking for something to donate, we would be most appreciative of these please :) MLCF Team Members Sally and Manda dropped by after a full day of SES volunteer work. Bumped, bruised and spider bitten, they were exhausted but spent time chatting to the patrons and team. They left hoping for a good nights sleep before getting back into it tomorrow. We have some lovely patrons who rush to assist set up both the food tables, benches and library books every week. Thank you guys, we really appreciate your help :) It helps us get organised quickly and efficiently, and demonstrates the kindness of so many of our patrons. Many thanks also to Marty at Christ Mission Possible who was able to find accommodation tonight for two patrons who were rough sleeping. Hopefully these patrons will find something longer term over the next few days, but for now, they have a safe and comfortable roof over their heads. Thanks CMP. Thats about all for tonight!
