Mama Sherry here. The town of Moreauville, LA passed a vicious dog ordinance which states residents who own one of the banned breeds [Rottweilers and Pit Bulls] must get rid of it by Dec. 1. Owners of vicious dogs” received a letter saying that pets found within the corporate limits of Moreauville after that date will be “impounded and transported to a veterinary clinic for further disposition. This is breed-specific legislation of the worst kind. To think a community can pass a law, then go to your house and confiscate your dog – only because of its breed – and kill it is beyond reason. Please, read the article, then sign the petition. An alderman said if there is a big enough outcry, the council will consider reversing the ordinance. However, the next council meeting isnt until Dec. 8th and the ordinance goes into effect Dec. 1st. That means this town will have the right to kill ALL Rottweilers and Pit Bulls in the city limits before anything could be done to stop them. We must help fight this, Pibble Posse!
