Mama, here! This morning was quite a big deal for Papa, the kids, and I.... When child abuse comes into play, we all hope and pray for a safe, kid friendly place to take our children to get them checked out and allow the right people to talk to them. While there ARE many Child Advocacy Centers in the US, there certainly are not enough. Here, in Bellingham, WA, we are lucky to have Brigid Collins Family Support Center. When abuse was disclosed and CPS was called, Brigid Collins stepped in. They really made the process a lot easier for us to endure. They work hand in hand with CPS, the local PD, the prosecutors office, local counselors, and more. They hooked us up with counseling, we did a lot of the disclosure related things there at the center. They made us feel really safe and taken care of. This morning, they held a fundraising breakfast. I was given the opportunity to stand up and tell our story. The team and I received a standing ovation, that felt phenomenal. I cant give everyone enough credit for the help theyve given us these past couple of years. Bikers Against Child Abuse International was represented there, as well. Our local chapter showed up, and the girls were over the MOON thrilled!! I couldnt have been happier.
