Mama question - This is long, but I would so appreciate you sharing, this first time mama needs feedback!.. My daughter is 14 months and still nurses to her little hearts content.. She is also MPI (milk protein intolerant) and sadly still isnt showing many signs of outgrowing it. Shes improved, as Im now able to eat small (very small) amounts of dairy, but if I eat too much shes up all night with tummy pains, gas, and runny poo for the next week. I worried so much about not wanting to upset her tummy that I waited a long time to start introducing food to her (beyond purées, which she was still very picky with). Now I feel that I missed my window of opportunity with her being very interested in table foods. She prefers boobie a million times over food. Shes over purées, actually wont eat anything from me off a spoon.. Wont eat any finger foods more than 1, 2 MAYBE 3 bites, and clamps her lips shut when I try to give her a bite of something new. She wont even eat chunks of banana anymore which she used to love. I dont understand and am worried about her getting the proper nutrition she needs. I think she wants more flavorful foods but its so hard when trying to make sure she doesnt get any trace of dairy. Thoughts? Advice? If you have experience with a child with MPI, what foods did you feed them and what milk did they drink during/after weaning? Thank you so much! Jamie Kristen
