Man City Poised To Announce Signing Of Arsenal Star Arsenal defensive stalwart to move to the Etihad, replicating the journey made by former Emirates Stadium stars Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri in the past. Manchester City are on the verge of announcing the completion of a deal to sign Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna on a free transfer, according to the Guardian. The France international defender has been superb for the Gunners since moving to north London from AJ Auxerre in 2007, but has allowed his contract to run down at Emirates Stadium. Despite talking with genuine fondness and emotion of Arsenal and, particularly, Arsene Wenger in recent weeks, Sagna looks set to leave. He follows the same path as Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri in moving from Arsenal to Man City recent years, and is set to sign a deal for £120,000 per week. Sagna will compete with Pablo Zabaleta for a space on the right side of Manuel Pellegrini’s defence, and his ability to play both centrally and on the left side could certainly come in useful for the Etihad Stadium outfit.
