Man, I always wondered why action scenes in todays movies never look as good as Hong Kong movies from the 80s/90s, they somehow lack the power and rhythm seen in old kungfu movies, even with 20+ years of advancement in special effects and movie making techniques. I learned that a lot of it has to do with editing differences between American and Hong Kong film directors, as well as the time spent on trying to get certain shots.
