Man United and Liverpool to battle for £33m winger Atletico Madrid’s resurgence both in Spain and Europe has brought a number of their star players on the radar of clubs all over Europe, and Turkish winger Arda Turan has been a favourite of the rumour mills for a few seasons now, constantly linked with a move to England in each passing transfer window. With Turan finally living up to his immense potential and Atletico benefiting immensely from it, it is no surprise that Manchester United and Liverpool are the two Premier League giants that have been reported as being interested in the 26 year old wideman. However, the Daily Express does raise many an eyebrow by declaring that the two English giants are prepared to activate Turan’s 40 million euro release clause to bring him on board. Whether or not Turan is worth that much money is probably a different matter, but it appears that may the only way clubs will get Atletico Madrid to part with their superstar. Man United have plenty of cash in their coffers after barely doing any spending in the summer, but it is hard to see Liverpool come up with that kind of money for Turan, unless they sell superstar Luis Suarez, making their interest in the Turk hard to imagine.
