Although his future is considered to be hanging by the thinnest of threads after again being at the centre of diving accusations during Champions League action this week, there is next to no interest in the player. Young’s brushes with diving controversy has seen his stock fall to an all-time Old Trafford low but the club have seen no interest in the winger from elsewhere. That means the champions could be stuck with the 28-year-old for another two years when his £115,000 a week contract comes to an end. Young’s problems have even been mentioned in Sir Alex Ferguson’s autobiography where he reveals he had told him the last thing he needed as a United player was a name for going down too easily.
