Man held over paddock stab murder A man has been arrested by det ectives investigating the murder of a mother-of-five who was stabbed to death in a paddock. Mrs Davis, known as Pennie, was killed in the New Forest and her body was discovered by her husband, Pete, in a field near Beaulieu, Hampshire, on September 2. The 47-year-old supermarket worker, from Blackfield, died of multiple stab wounds, Hampshire Constabulary said. A spokesman for the force said: ” Detectives investigating the murder of Pennie Davis in the New Forest have arrested a man on suspicion of murder. “The 36-year-old man was arrested in Southampton at 7.50pm and remains in police custody. Pennie’s family has been informed.” Officers believe it is possible she may have been followed from her workplace to the field. A 22-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of murder and a 37-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have both been released on police bail pending further inquiries. Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anyone acting suspiciously around Sainsbury’s in Hampton Lane, Blackfield, between 1pm and 3pm last Tuesday.
