Man kicked out of meeting for refusing to stand for the pledge? I didnt know that our rights were followed with an asterisk that says *all items shall be considered null and void if you dont stand for a pledge that was adopted 160ish years after this country was founded. Backround info (sourced from Wikipedia): The pledge was created in 1982 by Francis Bellamy. Bellamy was a noted Christian minister and socialist. Originally the pledge was accompanied with the Bellamy salute which resembled the Nazi salute -- it was later replaced with the hand-over-heart gesture. In 1954, in response to the threat of secular Communism, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words under God. ----- Why we have to stand for this today? Beats me.
