Man-not-so-well Sachs was injured on two occasions while performing stunts as Manuel. In “The Wedding Party”, he took a nasty blow to the head with a real frying pan. Worse yet, in “The Germans” he was burned quite badly during the fire scene. Sachs explains that it wasn’t the fire, but the chemicals used to make his jacket smoke, which leaked through the fabric and burned his arms. He recalls being in a play at the time, during which one of the characters throws books at him. Although he soldiered on, Sachs admits that it hurt “quite a bit” when the books hit one of the burns.
