Man shot in carpark of swimming pool - Wentworthville Friday, 26 July 2013 05:27:31 AM Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in the carpark of a swimming pool at Wentworthville last night. About 9:15pm, Thursday 25 July 2013, a man and a woman were seated in their car parked at the swimming pool on Dunmore Street when they were shot at. Police have been told two vehicles entered the carpark before a number of shots were fired towards the couple. One of the shots hit the driver’s door and struck the man, aged in his 30s, in the leg. He ran for help while the two vehicles fled the area. Police were called to the scene and spoke to the man who had only sustained a minor graze to his leg. He did not require any medical treatment. A crime scene was established in the carpark with a number of bullet casings seized for forensic examination. Detectives from Holroyd Local Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Operation Apollo are continuing their investigations into the shooting and are looking for a group of men who fled in a red Honda and a white sedan.
