Man stabbed outside hotel - Berala Police are investigating the stabbing of a man outside a hotel at Berala early this morning. About 2:10am (Friday 19 December 2014), police were called to a hotel on Woodburn Road following reports of a stabbing. It is believed a 30-year-old man was involved in an altercation with another man outside the hotel when he was stabbed once in the leg. The armed man fled the scene while the injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics. He was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition undergoing surgery. Police from Flemington Local Area Command are continuing investigations into the assault and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are looking for a man described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, 20-30 years old, 183cm tall with a medium to solid build, and wearing a red t-shirt and black track pants.
