Man, why cant DCs actual, feature film, live action, mega-budget, movies be this good? The older stuff from before 2010, with the old Justice League TV show aesthetic (Justice League: Doom, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths) were great, I love them, and were better than any of the DC Full-Fledged-On-The-Big-Screen movies. Still, they felt like cartoons. Like they were made to be shown on Cartoon Network and had that target audience in mind. The current generation of DC straight-to-video animated movies definitely dont feel like theyre made just for kids. Batman: Assault on Arkham was flat out amazing (Although it really should be called Suicide Squad:Assault on Arkham). Justice League: War had some of the most enjoyable scenes Ive ever seen in a superhero movie (Green Lantern: Youre not just some guy in a bat costume are you?) Justice League: Throne of Atlantis looks like its going to carry on in that vein. These are the movies that DC blockbusters should be. Seriously, scrap Superman v. Batman and throw all that money that the folks making these. I can not wait for this to come out. youtu.be/bUtt4uT9V_U (Note: A great deal of credit goes to Jay Oliva, who directed pretty much all of these new DC animated movies, and is also responsible for the amazing Young Justice animated TV show. He has a real understanding of what makes a good superhero story, and it comes through beautifully. Seriously, someone needs to let him direct an actual DC feature film.)
