Managed a sailing yesterday (Saturday 8th March) and generally - TopicsExpress

Managed a sailing yesterday (Saturday 8th March) and generally although there were a number of fish landed the fishing was notably different to last weekend, where Codling were present last week it was small Whiting and Dabs and a scattering of Dogfish and occasional small Codling this weekend, plus a few Plaice. The Plaice were of course the most interesting in that it looks now that well have a smooth transition from the Winter angling to the Spring, I do still think though that next weeks Spring tides could well throw a few more Codling out before they move away from our coast in numbers until their return in the Autumn. The coming week is giving settled weather so this in turn too should move the Plaice into the Bay in increasing numbers along with the Rays, in short I dont think angling prospects for the coming months have been so good in years (mild Winters do have there benefits)...........
