Manager - Branch Operations Earl Horst Systems Ltd. - Winchester, ON Apply from your phone Title: Manager - Branch Operations This position will report to the Director of Operations. In this role, the successful candidate will: Direct the short- and long-term scheduling and deployment of concrete, millwrighting, electrical, and construction crews and equipment across several different projects Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, site sketches, and technical specifications to support deployment decisions for equipment and human resources Estimate and order the proper types and quantities of material required to construct specific projects Oversee branch level shipping and receiving to ensure that the right material is delivered at the right time, to the right project Resolve issues at the branch level around work procedures, customer complaints, and installation problems Ensure the safekeeping of all company assets at branch (including structures, equipment, vehicles, inventory, and cash) Participate in job costing exercises and analyses Assist with the development of policies and procedures to improve efficiency of labour, quality of work, and safety of staff in the field Conduct site safety inspections and reports Deliver safety training Assist with annual employee reviews Assist with (and at certain levels, conduct) field recruiting, hiring, and orientation Produce clear and concise business correspondence (emails, reports, billing information, etc) Assist other office staff and field staff as required The successful candidate will have: 2+ years management-level experience in the construction sector on projects with a value of $250,000 or more (this experience should be in one or more of the following areas: estimating, scheduling, or project management) Strong mechanical aptitude that allows for quick and thorough comprehension of how new systems, machinery, and equipment fit together and work A proven ability to prioritize work and drive multiple activities in parallel A very strong work ethic Willingness and physical ability to go to work in the field when necessary Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook Strong communication and organizational skills A valid driver’s licence with a good driving record The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following: Direct field experience in the construction of civil works, concrete structures, agricultural structures, or industrial facilities A university or college degree in mechanical/structural engineering, project management, or business administration Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Primavera 6, or a similar project management software package Related work experience in the agricultural industry Indeed - 6 days ago
