IGSSS invites applications for the position of Manager-Advocacy and Networking for Head Office, New Delhi. Job Details •To undertake policy analysis and identify areas for advocacy with regard to the thematic areas that we are working on–Livelihood, Urban Poverty, Disaster Risk Reduction, Gender and Youth Development. •To develop an advocacy strategic plan in line with the organizations’ thematic areas. •To establish relationship with governments,bilateral agencies,media,regarding advocacy issues at PAN India level,along the thematic lines. •Lead advocacy initiatives by partnering with strategic networks, individuals, institutions strengthen the network of organisations involved in advocacy. •Guide the partners on networking & advocacy initiatives. •Organize state level and national level advocacy meets/workshops, press conferences. •Bring in visibility of IGSSS and its work across to key stakeholders which includes Government/s. Core competencies required •Understanding of development policies, matters, issues in Indian context. •Excellent networking skills. •Strong analytical skills. •Experience in handling strategic relationships with stakeholders such as Partner Organizations,Governments •Excellent communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills. •Should have the trait to handle matters/situations with a problem solving approach. •Willingness to travel is a must. Qualifications and experience •Post graduate in the field of Development preferably in Social Sciences. •7-10 years of experience in advocacy and networking in the development sector.
