With the recent opening of Canada’s longest runway and the construction of a new international terminal, this is an exciting time to be a part of the YYC Crew. The Role: In this newly created role you will own the overall development and delivery of the baggage systems and services in our dynamic and rapidly expanding facility. This includes playing a significant role in the activation, commissioning and final acceptance of the new baggage system in our new international terminal. From there, you will also work to redevelop of the baggage systems and services in our existing air terminal building. On a day to day basis you will manage the systems, troubleshoot issues and continually create and refine operating practices and procedures. On a more granular level some of your key responsibilities will include: Working with a number of key stakeholders to improve the overall operations of baggage processes and systems and translating needs into project requirements and deliverables. Advising various project teams in the development of specifications, drawings, documents, and models to define, communicate, and educate the stakeholders on the evolution of baggage systems and services. Developing and managing trials and operational testing to ensure that all baggage processes and systems function properly and capacity reviews have been completed; this includes testing and quality assurance as related to all baggage service components such as: aircraft connections, baggage connections, facility modeling, international to domestic transfers, and baggage reconciliation systems. Ensuring that ongoing operational procedures are produced for any new services. On an ongoing operational basis, manage current baggage systems and services, troubleshoot issues and create and refine operating practices and procedures. Oversee employees and contractors in the delivery of baggage services. Being an active member of the Facilities and Maintenance leadership team. Basic Requirements: Proven experience in baggage systems including strong familiarly with mechanical and electrical systems including controls. Experience working on large scale projects from conceptual design to final completion. Extensive background in developing, implementing, testing and refining operational practices procedures. Previous experience and a desire to manage and lead people. Ability to work professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
